It is made manually using traditional methods that are more than 700 years old. The key process is the natural crystallization in the salt fields of the park protected by Petola - a valuable biosediment substrate of minerals and microorganisms. The Piraner Salt with Denomination of Origin is light, rich in marine minerals and has an exquisite taste complemented by the mother water trapped in the crystals.
